Every September, families come together in Charlotte, NC to raise money for pediatric cancer research and local children’s charities. What better way to help celebrate Isabella’s life than bringing the community together to raise funds and awareness to make a difference in lives affected by cancer.
Join us Saturday, September 29, 2018, for the 11th Annual Isabella Santos Foundation 5K for Kids Cancer, 10K and 1 Mile Fun Run in Charlotte, NC. Our flagship event was started in honor of one girl’s fight and we love to see how it continues to grow each year. We are the fastest growing family-friendly race in Charlotte providing fun for the entire family. Not a runner? Not a problem! We have an activity for everyone with food and refreshments to help keep you energized. Race participants will receive a t-shirt, official racing bib with microchip timing system, and our fun run participants will receive a kids ISF cinch bag. Prizes will be given to the winners for specific age categories. Don’t forget about the Kids Zone for the little ones which includes games, face painting, slides, jump house, photo booth and more. NOT ABLE TO JOIN THE RACE?
You can register as a Phantom Runner and will receive a t-shirt through the mail. Phantom runners can also still start a fundraising page through FirstGiving and raise donations in order to be eligible for fundraising prizes. It will be like you are there! Sign up as a Phantom Runner through the regular registration process.
I’M REGISTERED, WHAT ELSE CAN I DO?
Start fundraising! Have fun and get competitive with friends and family by starting your own fundraising page through our fundraising platform, FirstGiving. FirstGiving is an amazing tool for organizations like ours for participants to raise donations, teams to compete and sponsors to engage. Creating your own page is very easy and receiving donations is even easier. Post on your Facebook or Twitter accounts as well as emails to your friends and family….you will be amazed how far you can get in your fundraising efforts.

Every year we encourage our race participants to get crazy in purple. We want to see your craziest, zaniest, most purpilicious gear on race day. Wear everything purple. Purple knee high socks, purple tutus, purple wigs, purple painted faces. If you can dream it up, we want to see it. We want to be jogging along, look up, and see a sea of purple. Show the world that YOU support finding a cure for pediatric cancer. We can’t wait to see your cute purple selves on race day!

- 8:00 AM: 5K/10K Race for Kids Cancer Begins
- 8:40 AM: 5K Award Ceremony Begins (in big white tent)
- 9:00 AM: One Mile Kids Fun Run Begins (estimated time; this run/walk immediately follows 5K/10K)
- 9:20 AM: 10K Award Ceremony Begins (in big white tent)
Please note: You can also pick up your packet on race day prior to race. There will be signs directing you where to go. Also, the times indicated in the schedule on race day are estimated and are subject to change.

CAN I WALK THE 10K, 5K, OR FUN RUN?
Yes, our race is only as competitive as you want it to be so if you want to walk, you won’t be alone.
CAN I BRING A STROLLER OR A WAGON TO THE RACE?
Yes, we are a very family friendly event and encourage you to bring strollers or wagons for your little ones.
WHERE EXACTLY IS THE RACE TAKING PLACE?
The race will take place in Ballantyne Corporate Park. The closest address you can enter into your GPS would be 15801 Brixham Hill Ave. Charlotte, NC 28277. Once you are in this vicinity you will see signs everywhere guiding you where to park and to the start/finish line.
HOW DO I START A TEAM?
When you register there is a place to enter your team name if it is not already in the drop down. Once you create the team, others will be able to pull the team name from the drop down and register under that team name.
WHAT DOES THE $20 FUN RUN REGISTRATION FEE INCLUDE?
The $20 registration fee is for each participant that wants a t-shirt and a race bib (to capture time). If you are bringing a baby or someone that does not want a t-shirt or race bib, there is no need to register them.
IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT TO THE ONE MILE FUN RUN?
No, parents can register for the fun run to run/walk with their kids.

I HAVE REGISTERED FOR THE RACE BUT I AM NO LONGER ABLE TO PARTICIPATE, CAN I GET A REFUND?
No, unfortunately we cannot offer refunds.
I REGISTERED FOR THE 5K AND NOW I WOULD LIKE TO REGISTER FOR THE 10K INSTEAD, CAN I CHANGE MY REGISTRATION?
Yes, if you would like to change to the 10k it will be an additional $10. You can email email@example.com for more information.
WILL THERE BE FOOD AT THE RACE?
Yes, we will have free food while supplies last.
