ISF INTERN CLASS of 2021, WEEK 5 UPDATE: 💲7️⃣5️⃣,5️⃣6️⃣2️⃣

ISF Summer Intern Program powered by OrthoCarolina. Motivation Ortho tip of the week: Incorporate protein into your diet. Eating protein with each meal helps to strengthen your immune system, support strong bones, and reduce the risk of osteoporosis.

First in Fight hosts a wine tasting for neighborhood social. (Parental involvement & oversite, only 21+ participated)

Our interns have raised just over $75K in just 5 weeks and we could not be more proud of them. Each one continues to bring something unique and creative ideas to the table as they race to raise money for pediatric cancer.  The strides they are making each week is unbelievable!

We have seen some exciting changes happen on the leaderboard this week that we want to highlight. Rockstar Tenley Nystrom and her team, First in Fight, continue to hold the lead they gained during last week’s challenges. In total their team currently stands at $17,892 raised. This is incredible! Following in second place is Ryan Brouse’s team Gold Ribbon Gladiators with a total of $14,752 raised. They have successfully surpassed team Dancers Against Cancer, lead by Shannon Margies, who had previously held the second place title. Over the next few weeks, we are going to see these leading teams compete closely, and are excited to see what other teams do to boost their way to the top.

This week we had 4 race sponsors come in due to the dedication and hard work of our intern teams. Team Going For The Gold, led by Morgan Caterino, secured a bronze sponsorship from 5th Street Group. Team Dancers Against Cancer (Shannon Margies) also roped in a bronze sponsorship from iNET45. First in Fight led by Tenley Nystrom is killing the game bringing in another silver race sponsorship from Grey Matter Concepts. Last but certainly not least, a platinum sponsorship was attained by team Gold Ribbon Gladiators, led by intern lead Ryan Brouse, from cbdMD

This past week our teams created content for our annual 5K race, and started to enlist runners for registration. They also continued to host fun and creative fundraising events. Shannon Margies hosted a pickleball tournament in her neighborhood raising $1,000 for her team. Tenley Nystrom and her team also held a wine tasting event at the Carrington Swim and Racquet Club. Attendees enjoyed wine flights and hors d’oeuvres. They successfully raised nearly $750 from this event.

Please continue to support our teams, and watch what great things they do next to finish out the program this summer.
