ISF Intern Team Hosts Pickleball Tournament to Raise Money for Pediatric Cancer

“Last year my neighborhood had a PickleBall court put in by the pool. Little did we know how popular it would become. Neighbors were down there every day, and people started having nights where everyone would go down to play. With that in mind, I talked to my HOA to organize a PickleBall tournament to raise funds for ISF.

It took place on Saturday, July 10th, and turned out better than I could have imagined. I have an amazing community in this neighborhood and had 17 teams signed up. With the registration fees and generous donations, we were able to make $910, with the help of my Grandma it is getting rounded up to $1000.

The tournament was formed by a random bracket generator and had 6 rounds. It was a day filled with great music, great company, and great games. People got really into it and some even showed up in matching uniforms.

I received great feedback from the event and am hoping to make the event an annual event to continue raising funds for ISF.”

Creative ideas like this are what we love to see! Congrats Shannon Margies, Lead Intern for Dancers Against Cancer, for putting so much fun into raising money for pediatric cancer!
