ISF Intern Team First in Fight Holds Concert for a Cure to Raise Funds for Pediatric Cancer

Written by Rachel Wood, Director of Marketing

Our Interns are getting creative and we love it!  They are coming up with so many different ideas on to spread awareness and raise funds for pediatric cancer.

Tenley & Tomson Nystrom

Tenley Nystrom, rising sophomore at UNC, is the Lead Intern for First in Fight.  Tenley’s brother, Tomson, is a member of her team and has grown up playing the guitar and singing in a band.  They came up with the idea to reach out to their neighborhood’s HOA requesting to hold a fundraiser, which included Tomson playing live music, at one of the neighborhood socials.  Their HOA was all for it and ‘Concert for a Cure’ was born.  While Tomson played music, Tenley along with team members Stephen and Antonio talked with guests about ISF.  First in Fight raised over $400 during Concert for a Cure to go towards their summer intern fundraising efforts!

The team is hoping to have the opportunity for more live music fundraisers throughout the summer, interested in supporting them?  Reach out to tenley@isabellasantosfoundation.org.

First in Fight Participating Team Members:

  • Tomson Nystrom, Rising Senior at UNC
  • Stephen Perle, Rising Senior at Brown University
  • Antonio LeMaisonett, Rising Sophomore at Myers Park High School

Each week we will feature fundraisers our Intern Teams are working on, we hope you will follow along, support their efforts, and cheer them on! Our teams aren’t just fundraising, they are learning a large array of business skills to guide them into becoming the future leaders of our community.  We are so proud of all these students who chose to make a difference this summer!
