Golfing for a cure raises over $116k and exceeds expectations.

Isabella’s presence was felt by all at our Birdies, Bourbon, and Beer 2023 Golf Classic when the “severe weather” forecast turned to beautiful skies. With the help of Firethorne Country Club, our summer interns, 42 sponsors, and our presenting sponsor Y-mAbs Therapeutics, we were able to exceed our expectations and raise over $116,000 for our Rare & Solid Tumor Program, at Levine Children’s.

The golfers played in a four-person scramble where they were met with several different activities along the way, from our Hole in One competition sponsored by AUDI Charlotte to our Long Drive competition sponsored by RAM Pavement, and more which you can see in our recap reel. In between the golf activities, attendees were able to cool off with a towel thanks to Modern Nissan of Lake Norman, and hydrate from NoDa’s “unlimited” supply of beer, and Tito’s refreshing cocktails.

Following the tournament, golfers attended a banquet where they viewed a gallery of photos recapping moments from the day. Such photos were brought to us by SnapHappy photos and was sponsored by Lincoln Financial Group. Click here to view the gallery. To wrap up the festivities, raffle winners were chosen and awards were handed out.

None of this would’ve been possible without all of our amazing sponsors and our presenting sponsor Y-mAbs Therapeutics. Y-mAbs is a commercial-stage clinical biopharmaceutical company focused on the development and commercialization of novel, antibody-based therapeutic products for the treatment of cancer. The founder, Thomas Gad, has a similar story to ISF in that his daughter, Daniella, was also diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called neuroblastoma. Similarly to ISF, he uses that situation to fuel his fire to find treatment for childhood cancer. We are very appreciative to partner with an organization whose goals and purpose align so closely with ours.

If you are interested in learning more about ISF or ways you or your business can get involved with supporting pediatric cancer in our community, please reach out to Karen Murphy (Director of Strategic Partnerships). ISF will receive all the support we can get and Karen would be happy to share the in’s and out’s of the organization’s mission over a cup of Pure Intentions Coffee or NoDa Beer.

Though the Isabella Santos Foundation has donated over $7 million so far, we are dedicated to continue raising money until we have increased the survival rates of kids with cancer. Our efforts not only fund the support for families dealing with cancer but expand the scope of research and treatment for rare pediatric cancers. Because of our loyal supporters, donors, and sponsors The Isabella Santos Foundation Rare & Solid Tumor Program has become an international and national destination for healthcare for children with solid tumors, brain cancers, and rare cancers. With your support, we can reach our goal of treating children like Isabella and Daniella so that all kids can live a healthy life.
