STIR Charlotte announces July 20th grand opening, ongoing partnership with the Isabella Santos Foundation

CHARLOTTE, NC — STIR Charlotte, a restaurant and cocktail bar featuring artisan ice, scratch-made food and a seafood raw bar, will open to the public Monday, July 20 in South End. The 6,100-square-foot space is located half a mile from Uptown and steps from the light rail’s Bland Street Station on the ground floor of The RailYard at 1422 S Tryon St, Suite 130.

As part of an ongoing partnership, STIR Charlotte’s grand opening events will benefit the Isabella Santos Foundation, a local organization that raises money and awareness for rare pediatric cancer research.

“We are honored to be the charity partner for STIR Charlotte and greatly appreciate the community support from the management team,” says ISF executive director Erin Santos. “The efforts and generosity of everyone involved will help us continue to bring change to our local pediatric cancer community. Pediatric cancer doesn’t stop, no matter what is going on in the world, and neither will we. We are thrilled STIR Charlotte is on board to help us continue fighting”

Through the month of August, STIR will donate $2 to ISF for every Austin Mule sold. The popular draft cocktail made with Tito’s vodka, house-made ginger syrup, fresh lime juice and sugar cane syrup is a STIR bestseller.

Community engagement is a core value at STIR facilitated by the restaurant group’s charitable giving branch SquareUp Foundation. The SquareUp Foundation provides service and hospitality beyond the table through charitable giving, volunteer time and emergency financial assistance for employees by way of the organization’s HOPE Fund which distributes grants of $500-$1000 to team members experiencing hardships.

STIR is known for elevated cocktail production featuring house-blended bitters and syrups, fresh-pressed juices, and artisan ice. The bar’s in-house ice production is a three-day process powered by a Clinebell machine that creates 300-pound blocks of ice with a unique bottom up freezing method that results in crystal-clear formations free from bubbles and other impurities. Those blocks are then cut, whittled and shaved into specific shapes and sizes that best complement each drink.

The drink menu features made-to-order classic cocktails, craft cocktails on draft, and house barrel-aged cocktails along with an extensive list of 350+ liquors, a curated selection of wines and a rotating lineup draft beers.

Everything at STIR is made in house, from the hand-cut fries to the steak sauce. Executive Chef Mathew Turney oversees the raw bar and kitchen featuring fresh oysters from North Carolina and beyond, traditional Mexican and Peruvian ceviche, hearty handhelds like a fried green tomato burger topped with pimento cheese, and classic entrees like shrimp & grits, chicken piccata, and white cheddar mac & cheese with scallops and shrimp.

Weekend brunch is a celebration at STIR with $5 Bloody Marys, $1 classic or apple cider mimosas and $10 giant mason jar mimosas that serve 10. Brunch favorites include chicken & waffles, avocado toast on sourdough bread topped with a fried egg, and shrimp & crab Benedict piled high with jumbo lump crab meat, crispy fried shrimp, poached eggs and hollandaise sauce.

Charlotte is the third location for STIR with a flagship restaurant in Chattanooga’s Southside Historic District and a second location in Raleigh’s North Hills shopping district. The 360-seat restaurant features an open kitchen, premium raw bar and a striking craft cocktail bar with signature glowing star chandeliers. Roll-up garage doors create an airy, indoor-outdoor environment that opens to a spacious courtyard patio for expanded seating and walk-up bar access. A private room with seating for up to 50 is available for special events.

STIR Charlotte anticipates opening in Phase 3 of North Carolina’s extended COVID-19 reopening plan and will adhere and adapt to mandated safety practices as they are announced. Final seating capacity is subject to change according to state and local regulations.

STIR Charlotte will be open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to midnight, Friday 11 a.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday 10:30 a.m. to midnight with brunch served weekends 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Parking is available on site at The RailYard.
