Isabella Santos Foundation 5K and 10K for Kids Cancer Raises $246,000
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Charlotte, Oct 20, 2022 – The Isabella Santos Foundation announced that its 15th Annual 5K/10K for Kids Cancer event has raised $246,000. Prior to the event the foundation announced this was their final 5K/10K for Kids Cancer race as they focus on new ideas in 2023.
This year’s race took place on October 15 in Ballantyne Corporate Park. The family-friendly event also featured a post-race festival that included: brunch, a Kids Fun Zone with games, and activity booths; and a silent auction and raffle. Hendrick Automotive Group Luxury Dealerships served as the presenting sponsor. The following is a link to additional event sponsors.
“The weather was beautiful and it was such a happy day filled with lots of hugs and tears as we said goodbye to the event Isabella is known for. Thank you to all who joined us for our 15th and final 5K/10K for Kids Cancer event as we raised funds for pediatric cancer,” said Erin Santos, Executive Director of the Isabella Santos Foundation. “My family and the ISF team can’t thank you enough for making this event a priority and honoring my daughter. Thank you to my dedicated team, sponsors, volunteers and participants who helped make Saturday special. Just because this is our last 5K event, this isn’t the end in any way. Just the beginning of new ways to celebrate her and all the other kids fighting cancer.”
Proceeds from the event benefit the Isabella Santos Foundation Rare & Solid Tumor Program at Atrium Health’s Levine Children’s Hospital. Since 2007, the event has raised more than 2.5 million for pediatric cancer with the support of the Charlotte community and local businesses.
