ISF Newsletter, April 2023
“Spring is here and brings about better weather, longer days, beautiful scenery and a renewed sense of energy and motivation after a long, cold winter. This can be a great time to start new projects, set goals and make positive changes in your life. Personally, being able to just take meetings on my phone as I walk outside, gets me charged up as I focus on the beautiful azaleas and new growth around me.
If you are a mom like me, you also find yourself thinking – yikes. Summer is going to be here before we know it. Kids will be out of school, floating around the house, eating everything out of the kitchen, so if I want to get something accomplished, I better start it NOW! So I find that spring is when I really get moving! We have many things coming up, so be sure to follow us on social media to find out how you can win tickets to the Wells Fargo Championship, honor a special Mother with a gift for Mother’s day or participate in our upcoming Bourbon, Birdies and Beer Charity Classic presented by Y-mAbs Therapeutics.
Here at ISF, we are still flying high from the success of our March breakfast event. A three-day event left us exhausted but exhilarated as we welcomed many new faces this year. Our event raised just over $200,000 and funds are still coming in! (You can still donate here.) Thank you to all of you who attended and donated in honor of Isabella’s 18th birthday. We hope you all felt inspired. The most exciting piece for me was the addition of 18 NEW Three Wish Society Members and almost 50 new Monthly Donors from the start of 2023! Our theme for the year is engagement and the attendees of this event did just that. We are always excited to bring in new members to these initiatives and will be hosting our first Three Wish Society event at my home in May. If you are still on the fence on joining, now is the time to do it. The event is going to be so fun and beautiful and we even have a little added private moss art show courtesy of The Savage Way that you won’t want to miss. Join Three Wish today and get your invite tomorrow! Email me directly if you are interested! Also, be sure to check out our Three Wish Society and Monthly Donor spotlights. Get to know people in your community who are committed to doing big things for kids. These are some really incredible people.
We are also super excited for our upcoming Changemakers Intern Program sponsored by Viva Chicken and it is currently open for applications! We are excited to see so many of you already submitting for lead positions as well as our volunteer roles. Our lead interns will start May 15th and interviews are being scheduled as we speak. If you are a high school senior graduating this May (congrats!), or a college student looking for a summer opportunity – be sure to apply. Leads will build teams and put 30 hours a week towards making a difference for kids with cancer. The lead role is a paid position and always changes the course of lives for kids who are selected. Volunteers will be assigned to a team and participate in a variety of fun challenges to learn new skills and also get the added benefit of adding ISF to their college applications or resumes. Woohoo! If you have a student under your roof that is looking to stay busy this summer, or if you as a parent need them to stay busy – have them apply today! We are happy to take them off your hands.
From all of us at ISF, thank you to all of you who have chosen to engage with us already in 2023! It’s hard to believe this is our last year of fulfilling our 5 million dollar pledge to Levine Children’s Hospital for the ISF Rare and Solid Tumor Program. We have so many things in the works to celebrate this amazing accomplishment that you all helped to make possible….so watch out for details. But our work is not done. Planning sessions are in place to ensure the program continues to grow and flourish in the years to come. We are also looking to add in some new and exciting adventures that we are hoping you will come alongside us, to help accomplish.
Our goal is to change the lives of kids with cancer, one step at a time so be sure to keep an eye out for how you can be involved in making this a reality in 2023 and beyond.”
Erin Santos, Executive Director and Isabella’s Mom
We are thrilled to announce that Our Morning In Paris event raised over $200,000 for our mission!!
This is what is possible when the determined women of our community come together and vow to not let cancer win. This event was made even more meaningful as we celebrated Isabella’s 18th birthday, honoring her legacy and the impact ISF has made in her name and in the fight against pediatric cancer.
Thank you to everyone who helped make this event such a success. If you weren’t able to attend, but would still like to make a donation…it isn’t too late!
