GIVE BLOOD AND SAVE A CHILD’S LIFE
Isabella Santos Foundation to partner with OneBlood for community blood drive
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 2, 2020) — The Isabella Santos Foundation (ISF) is teaming up with OneBlood on March 7-9th, to host blood drives throughout the Charlotte area on what would have been Isabella’s 15th birthday to honor her life and legacy. Isabella Santos passed away at age seven from a five-year battle with neuroblastoma, a rare type of pediatric cancer. During her treatment, she received numerous blood and platelet transfusions. “OneBlood has been an incredible partner and supporter throughout Isabella’s cancer journey and with our efforts to carry on her legacy to impact the lives of children with cancer,” says Erin Santos, executive director and president of the Isabella Santos Foundation. “We hope you will join us to help honor Isabella’s life and legacy bringing in a record number of blood units for our community over these several days.”
This will be the Isabella Santos Foundation’s largest blood drive yet with locations and mobile units across the city. For every confirmed donation, OneBlood will generously donate $10 back to ISF.
“We have long valued our relationship with the Isabella Santos Foundation, which is the spirit and manifestation of Isabella’s legacy of community support and caring,” said Martin Grable, Executive Vice President, Corporate Development at OneBlood. “It is very rewarding to partner with such a passionate and highly successful group of people dedicated to raising awareness of rare childhood cancers. We encourage the public to make a difference by rolling up their sleeves and giving blood in memory of Isabella [Santos] and to save local lives.”
