STIR Charlotte To Donate a Portion of November Proceeds to Isabella Santos Foundation and Announces Charitable Foundation
During a time when many are in need, STIR is supporting the Isabella Santos Foundation, a Charlotte-based charity, by donating a portion of their proceeds during the month of November. The Isabella Santos Foundation is dedicated to improving rare pediatric cancer treatment options in an effort to increase survival rates of kids with cancer. Since STIR’s opening in Charlotte, it has partnered with the Isabella Santos Foundation to raise money for its mission.
“We are thrilled to be the charity partner for STIR Charlotte,” Karen Murphy, Director of Sponsorships from the Isabella Santos Foundation says, “community support is critical to nonprofits today, so we are incredibly thankful for restaurants like STIR Charlotte and organizations like SquareOne Holding Company who truly care and work to give back.” Murphy continues, “Through the grand opening, STIR Charlotte and SquareUp Foundation have already begun helping ISF support kids with rare cancer. As we grow this partnership, we are so excited to see what we can accomplish together for the local pediatric cancer community!”
SquareOne Holding Company, the Chattanooga-based hospitality group that owns and operates several restaurants and breweries throughout the region including STIR Charlotte, has established a charitable foundation to support their team members who have suffered traumatic events.
Through The SquareUp Foundation, STIR Charlotte’s sister restaurants have partnered with charitable organizations in each city where they operate. In Chattanooga, STIR and State of Confusion have partnered with the Chattanooga Community Kitchen. State of Confusion additionally contributes to Reflection Riding Arboretum & Nature Center. Balter Beerworks in Knoxville supports Second Harvest and Strawberry Alley in Clarksville combats pediatric illness by supporting Camp Rainbow. In North Carolina, STIR Raleigh supports Oak City Cares; STIR Charlotte raises funds for the Isabella Santos Foundation. Carolina Brewery, based in the Research Triangle, partners with the local Susan G. Komen chapter.
“The root of the hospitality industry should be just that; a welcoming and generous environment that thrives on supporting others,” said Allen Corey, CEO of SquareOne Holding. “SquareOne believes hospitality should extend far beyond our dining tables and into the communities in which we live. The SquareUp Foundation is doing just that.”
SquareUp will also assist employees who require financial support during times of economic hardship through the HOPE (Helping Our People in Emergencies) Fund. Donations ranging between $500 and $1,000 to help employees facing natural disasters, illness, injury or other emergencies.
About the Isabella Santos Foundation
It was Isabella’s dream to Beat Cancer, Grow Hair, and Live Her Dreams. Although research and advanced treatments didn’t come in time for her dreams to come true, her legacy is pushing the foundation to give others a fighting chance against rare pediatric cancer. ISF is dedicated to improving rare pediatric cancer treatment options in an effort to increase survival rates of kids with cancer. Over the course of twelve years, ISF has funded nearly $4 million toward expanding the scope of research and treatment, and supporting families dealing with cancer in a variety of ways.
