3 Wish Society Supports Funding for Critical Role to Support Isabella Santos Foundation Rare & Solid Tumor Program

Very special thank you to our 3 Wish Society members for helping us fund the new Clinic Coordinator for the Isabella Santos Foundation Rare & Solid Tumor Program at Levine Children’s. Because of their annual financial commitment, 100% of their funds being donated in 2020 go towards providing a much needed resource to the rapidly growing Isabella Santos Foundation Rare & Solid Tumor Program.

Hillary Absher, MSN, CNP, started with the Atrium Health Levine Children’s team at the end of June.  As the Clinic Coordinator, Hillary is the first point of contact for all new patients entering the ISF Rare & Solid Tumor Program, as well as the ISF MIBG Program.  She is the face of the program for all new referrals traveling to Charlotte while helping patients and families navigate a healthcare system that is new to them.  Transition is hard on families fighting for their kids, so Hillary is in place to help make it a little easier.

In just three months, Hillary has supported 36 families, either transferring their care to Levine Children’s or bringing their child for a consultation. Her position has truly transformed the team’s ability to care for destination patients.

Dr. Sholler, Director of the Isabella Santos Foundation Rare & Solid Tumor Program at Levine Children’s, and her team are running full speed ahead in a very short period of time. With Dr Sholler’s arrival,  this program has taken off and is growing very rapidly. Development of the program requires the need for specialized personnel to help focus on research and novel therapies. Since July 2020, the program has had more than 36 referrals, many emerging internationally.

The Isabella Santos Foundation Rare & Solid Tumor Program will provide the most comprehensive care and treatments for pediatric cancer in our community and across the globe. This clinic will offer the most advanced clinical treatments, including precision medicine and novel clinical trials, to bring forward the newest therapies and improve outcomes in childhood cancer.

Thank you to all our 3 Wish Society Members for helping us provide funding for this much needed asset for the program team.  Thank you to all our supporters for continuing to believe in our mission.  It is Incredible and big changes are happening because of you!
